Mixed Bag of Goodies to Share

I have been a busy gal lately, but I must admit that it is so much fun getting 1 step closer to having my cabinets completely done. I did stain 5 of my cabinet doors last night and I must say that these cabinets look AWESOME!! Oh, I totally made the right decision in taking the plunge to re-vamp the kitchen and give it a new look. It is definitely a long and drawn out process, but if any of you ladies are thinking about doing it...... DO IT!! It is going to be well worth it when I am all done. I am so excited I could pee my pants (lol). Just checking to see if you were all awake this morning : )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I won a giveaway from Carrie @ Unmatched Socks and I have been decorating here and there with my goodies. I decided to put my Americana picture in my entry way along with Mr. Bunny. I also added a prim flag that she included to give him a new look for Memorial Day as well as the 4th of July which is around the corner. Doesn't everything look so cute? I am still working on my other goodies and will post pictures on those very soon.
Oh yes!! Here is my Goodwill buy that I found last night. It was normally $9.99, but it was on sale for half off. I was thrilled. I am going to paint it yellow ochre over black. A little basket that I won in the giveaway will hang from one of my pegs. Oh....... I saw this beauty and lit up. I was so happy!! I was just happy it didn't have heart cut out of it. That is all I find anymore. Now if they were stars then that would be a totally different story (lol). Don't you love this beauty?
As promised........ here is my hypertufa that my Mom bought for me while we were in Amish Country this past weekend. You would think this pot would be SUPER heavy, but surprisingly it is not. They just got them in and I can't wait to plant something in it. Can you see the impression of the flower in the bottom? I think it is a sunflower. Anyway, that is my hypertufa.
Ooops....... here is another peek of my cabinets. Ignore me! My hair was little dripping wet, I had an old shirt on that I was wiping paint off on and well I guess you could that I was not looking too pretty at all. Anyway, at least you get another peek of the cabinets. Remember that these do not have the stain over top of them yet. That will probably not happen until Friday night when Cameron stays with my in-laws for the night. I just didn't want him exposed to all those fumes. So, by the end of the weekend....... the cabinets SHOULD BE done! Thank you to you all for being patient with me and most of all for being the gals that gave me the swift kick to get up and tackle these cabinets. I am totally loving them and I am so excited!! Trust me....... if you like prim then you will love them. The stain almost gives the cabinet doors a soft coffee/tea stain and it looks primtastic!! Hmmm, now I need to find some hardware for my drawers and doors. Oh how I love projects!!
I leave you with a picture of part of my garden. My purple salvia is definitely in bloom along with a daylily and lamb's ears peeking through. Don't you love my garden mushroom? I got this at Country Gathering's in Berlin, Ohio. Don't you just love it? It add so much character to my beds. This is my 2nd year having it, but I still love it like it was brand new!
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day. I am off to relax and put my feet up before I have to tackle more cabinet doors tonight. Hopefully it won't rain and I am really hoping that the humidity cuts back a little bit. Oh, I was sweating like some pig last night and when you have rubber gloves on and a stain brush in one hand and a stain rag in another....... uh yeah, wiping your forehead can be a bit difficult. Oh, I was a mess I tell ya! I just can't stand it when it is REAL humid....... our A/C tends to spoil me!
Love your giveaway goodies!
I hate the teaser picture of the cabinets! I can't even see them! How cruel to be teasing us like that!
Of coarse you on the over hand are looking pretty darn sexy!! LOL
This humidity is killing my lovely hairdo...I hope today is much better and that the rain does not come as predicted!
Have a good day you sexy babe!
Lisa,
Love the mushroom! Wht a unique garden piece. Like everyone else I am anxiously awaiting the cabinet reveal. I did my cabinets three years ago,so I sure know the work involved, but like you, it is totally worth it in the end.
I am dying to see your cabinets when they are finished. So far, they look teriffic! You sure are working hard to get them done. It isn't fun to have a kitchen torn apart, is it?
I love all your goodies! You're almost there with the cabinets too. Your hardwork will really pay off. I think you appreciate things a little more when you have to put your own sweat into it, make sense? I know that I sure do.
Good luck!
Lisa,
I love your entry way display! very cute!
I have a shelf just like the one you got from GW. My son made it a few years ago for Cub Scouts. It came from either Home Depot or Sears Hardware; I don't remember which - he did a lot of woodworking projects.
Your cabinets are coming along great! I hate to disappoint you, but the humidity is suppose to greatly increase later today with more rain showers moving in. :( I have naturally curly hair and I can tell you there's a lot of humidity already! It's curling every which way but the way I want it to go!
Have a great day!
Take care,
~Kris~
Wow, those are some awesome prizes. I am so jealous. I keep hoping one day MY name will be picked to win something. Until then, I'll just keep entering and entering and entering and....... I know what you mean about all of the heart items everywhere. Seems everyone has gotten tired of them all at the same time.
It is very humid here too. It rained last night, yeah, we so needed it for the crops. We are happy campers again for awhile. What a roller coaster ride farming is. Will it rain or won't it? I wouldn't trade it tho. Can't wait to see your cupboards. Hope they don't make me wish I would have done something other than my cranberry!!
Have a great day.
Lisa, you are a HOOT!! I want some of that energy tonic you 'been sipping'!!!! Everything looks great from your foyer to your kitchen to your gardens! How in the heck can one prim gal keep it soooo together?? I keep my 2 grandchildren during the day and I thought I accomplished a lot but I believe I have met my match!!!
I just finished my cabinets a few months ago about the same color of yours and I am really enjoying them!! I went from williamsburg blue to the lighter look of buttermilk so it really adds a lot of light to the room. Know you will enjoy yours, especially when you get everything all primmed up again!! Get some rest... Sherrie
