Whatcha Working on Wednesday

I have been one busy bee lately. My son is sick with a sinus infection so in between taking care of him and taking advantage of the nice weather...... well, I have been quite busy! This is what I have been working on lately. Do you all remember these old sap buckets? Well, I saw this great idea in Amish Country and I was actually just going to purchase what I saw, but I was told that they didn't sell them anymore. Well, after thinking about it a little more, I thought oh heck I could do that myself. So, after buying these old sap buckets for $5.00 each, I decided to give them a good cleaning.
After cleaning the buckets...... I decided to give them a nice coat of black spray paint (matte finish). I am definitely not into the shiny look so I went with the matte.
I then decided to add a special touch to each bucket so I decided to grab some prim paints and stencil some stars on the buckets to give them a new look. They are looking better already - don't you think?
After looking at them for awhile.... I decided that the stars were a bit too bright for me so I added some stain over the stars to darken them and give them a more prim look. Yep, they are just what I was hoping for. Ah, yes my project is coming along nicely. Now to add the FINAL finishing touches, but before I can do that....... I need to do a few more things. I wish I could tell you what I was going to do with these lovely prim sap buckets, but I am afraid you will have to wait just a little bit longer. Next time you see a picture of these buckets...... they will be in their new home. I can't wait! It seems like I can't move fast enough with this project. TRUST ME - I am so anxious to show you the finished project. We are almost there - I promise!
~ STAY TUNED ~

I just love keeping you all in suspense : ) It is just so much fun (lol).

Oh Lisa!

The sap buckets are looking great!! I can't imagine what the end result is going to be! ;) LOL Can't wait to see where you put them!

You HAVE been a busy bee! I'm envious. I've been stuck cleaning. And not the fun changing things around kind, but the cleaning out cupboards and closets kind. =( Hopefully I'll get to post a blog later today.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Hi Lisa! I'm guessing you will put plants in them too! That's what I did with mine. But now, I think I need to paint mine too.

How cute! Great idea. I live in Amish country, too. Maybe I'll see if any buckets are available here. We also have several pure honey farms here and this early spring the trees were loaded with buckets. Hmmmm.....They would make such cute flower holders on a wooden fence. I'm anxious to see what you are going to do with them.
