Gardening & More

Good thing I was able to work in my flower gardens before it got too hot.  It has been alot warmer this week and full of sunshine so I won’t be complaining.  You all know that I love sunshine!  Anyway, I have been weeding alot in my gardens and must say that I don’t think that job ever ends.  It is constant.  I think I could pull buckets and buckets of weeds, go out the next day and find more.  Ughhhh, that is one thing I hate about having all of these flower gardens.  My flowers bring me so much happiness and plenty of time to relax, but when I am done…… well, there is not much more time for anything else (lol).  Anyway, I took some pictures and thought I would share them with you today.  Here are pics that I took this week.

WOW ~ Is that flower garden overload or what?!?  During these past couple weeks I have had a little extra time to make a couple things and start on a project.  I will first of all show you what I made.  Very easy and simple!!  I used a dry gourd and made sure that I cleaned all of the dirt and mold off of it first.  Here is the before picture.

With a little water and a sharp knife used to scrap…… I was able to get all of that junk removed.  Once it was clean and smooth then I simply attached some wire and drilled a hole.  Once the hole was drilled then I cleaned out the inside and hung it up.  It is now a perfect little bird house.  I have plenty of birds in my backyard so I thought by having a few more rentals that we should be good to go.  Cameron and I joke around that the monthly rent is only 5 worms (lol).

My one and only project that I am currently working on is taking up all of my free time right now.  Do you all remember this beauty?  Alot of you said that you wouldn’t paint it, but I had to in order to keep the smell of grease, oil and old dirty barn to a minimum.  I applied 3 coats of primer to this cupboard and a coat of black paint so far.  I will be working on applying my top coat of red today.  The before and after pictures are coming soon, but this should hold you over until then.

My goal is to have it totally finished by this weekend.  If that does happen then I will be sure to post pics early next week.  Keep Watching!!

Of course I had to share a picture of my little man with you.  We were out playing with the water hose the other day.  Cameron was chasing me around and was trying his best to get me wet.  He actually did quite a few times, but I think Mommy took the lead.  Here are a few pics from our fun water day.  enjoy!!

Just like that last picture…… we were worn out from all that playing.  After this post…… I am worn out (lol).  Hope you all are doing well.  Hope to see you back early next week for the BIG reveal.

Creating & Buying

I am trying to figure out which is more fun.  Creating new items or buying new items.  Hmmmm, that is a hard one because I love to make new signs and game-boards, but I also love to buy things.  Well, I have been making a few new items and I thought I would share a few with you today.  Here are a couple game-boards that I made for myself and the garden signs were for Mother’s Day gifts and I made a couple for myself as well.  The signs were made without using a stencil and I must say that I had alot of fun making them.  If you are interested in one or several then feel free to e-mail me or check out my selling blog.

I loved how the garden signs turned out.  The mustard/black sign went to my Mom and the red/mustard sign went to my MIL.  The God’s Handiwork sign was for me and I already have a flower garden sign so I was good to go there.  It was fun for  a switch not painting with a stencil.  You can be so creative!!

So……… do you ever find yourself buying something and then not knowing what to do with it?!?  Well, I found this great school desk at the Springfield Antique Extravaganza this weekend.  I loved it and thought I would get it.  Well, now I have it and I am not sure what to do with it or where to put it.  I just love it and thought that it probably had alot of history behind it, but now I just need to find that perfect spot for it.  Would you like to see it?  I am so curious as to how old it is, but I can’t seem to find anything on it.  The guy that sold it to me told me that it was made out of Ash.  It is a nice Champion desk, but heck I don’t know much about old antique school desks.  Do any of you?  Here are some pictures.

So, what do you all think of my school desk?  Can you imagine the history behind this?  You wonder who sat at that desk?  Makes you really think about where it has been and where it came from.

I leave you today with a couple pictures that were taken this weekend at Race for the Cure.  I am a strong supporter and it is a tradition to participate every year.  It was amazing to hear that over 50,000 people registered this year and it was a new record for the state of Ohio.  I was part of the Heather/Stefanie team which contained just over 4000 people.  We all wore pink wigs and it was truly awesome.  I encourage you all to participate in the race sometime during your life.  It is a great cause and the money goes towards finding a cure for cancer plus helping educate others about the importance.  Here are a few pictures that I hope inspire you. Help make a difference because you never know when you might need it.

Happy Mother’s Day!!

What a beautiful day here in Ohio.  The sun is shining and that is pretty much all I can say about that.  It is a bit chilly and in the 50’s.  What happened to that warm weather?  I was hoping for warm weather so I could work in my flowerbeds, but that will have to wait a little bit.  I have lots of pictures to show you of my flowerbeds, but they will wait til the week begins.  I finally had dirt put down and the mulch is down as well.  Pictures coming soon for all of you flower lovers!! Today is all about Mother’s Day!!  I first want to wish all of you a wonderful Mother’s Day!!  I hope that your day is filled with lots of love, laughter and sweet memories.

I want to take a moment to thank God for allowing me to be a Mom.  It is indeed the best and most rewarding job that I have ever had and I am so blessed to be a Mom.  You all know that I struggled for many years to become a Mom and this is a very special day for me.  I treasure this day more then you will ever know.  I actually consider it better then my birthday!!  Anyway, I thought I would share a picture that was taken of Cameron and I today.  Here is Mommy’s beautiful blessing and the reason why I am so happy!!!  For all of you ladies out there that struggle through infertility……don’t give up on being a Mommy.  Keep the Faith and remember that things happen in God’s time and not our time.  Many Prayers to you all.

Many Kisses & Hugs being sent up to my angel baby in Heaven.  I love you too sweetheart and wish you could share this day with me.

On the flip side of things….. I wanted to take a moment to say “Thank You” to my Mom for being the wonderful Mom that she is to my sister and I.  My Mom seriously has a heart of gold.  She is my best friend and I truly wouldn’t know what to do without her.  We have this incredible bond that a daughter and mother should have, but some ladies long to have.  I couldn’t be happier that God so richly blessed me with her.  I am able to open up to her and talk to her and know that she will listen, lend a helping hand or just a hug.  She gives the best advice and she always knows best!  We have so much fun together and she has taught me that you can be a great friend to your child, but still be a parent at the same time.  I feel as though I wouldn’t be the person that I am today without her.  She instilled in me the best of everything.  Ok, ok I may not be that patient, but I feel as though I am an all around good person.  Thank you Mom for being such an incredible Mom and Best Friend.  I love you very much and I am so honored to be your daughter.  God blessed me beyond my imagination when he gave me you for my Mom.  I love you with all my heart!!           ♥ Happy Mother’s Day Mom ♥
