Big Bucket Reveal

It is FINALLY that time!! Yep, you heard me correctly. It is the BIG BUCKET REVEAL !! I know that you all have been anxiously and so patiently waiting to see what I was going to do with my sap buckets. Well, these handy dandy sap buckets that I bought at an antique show for $5.00 each are not planters for my flower gardens. They are actually LIGHTS! Yep, you heard me correctly. I turned them into lights. I finally was able to get the electrical part of things done last night with the help of my FIL and here is how the light above my kitchen sink looks. Now picture this..... my cabinets are soon going to be painted buttermilk by Olde Century Paints with a coat of Minwax Walnut Stain over them, I am also going to get new curtains so you can see my bucket light a little bit better and then that should complete my kitchen. The curtains are just too cute!! I saw them for the first time at North Shore Primitives and then recently saw them at Country Gatherings in Amish Country. You can get one for each side or you can just have one up on your rod and have it pulled off to one side. They are real prim!! If I can find them on the net then I will be sure to post a picture for you all to see.

Well, let's take a look at my bucket light - Shall We?

So, what do you all think? Don't you love them?

VERY cute Lisa! Did you poke enough holes in the top (which would be really be the bottom) of the bucket for the heat to eascape. If you didn't you really should or the heat will build up in there and the bulb could explode. I learned that from Design on a Dime on HGTV!

I have seen the curtains that go to one side - just can't remember where now! Love them though!

Lisa,

You're so creative and clever! That light looks great...and so prim! Now you've got my brain going...I've been trying to find just the right overhead ceiling light for my bathroom redo and I can't find anything that suits both me and hubby. It needs to be more flush to the ceiling though, so I'm going to think out of the box now after seeing yours! Feel free to pass any ideas my way if you have any!

Have a wonderful day, Lisa!
