Work in Progress

It was an absolutely beautiful day here in Ohio. It was 70 degrees and I was loving every single minute of it. We went to Lowes and looked at a few things. My Mom gave me a gold kitchen faucet awhile back and we have yet to get it installed because we need a new kitchen sink, but we are hoping that will be done soon. We also looked at new kitchen countertops and my husband said we might be able to do that soon too which I was thrilled about. I will keep you all posted on all of that.
I was able to borrow my FIL's hand sander for my bathroom cupboards and I love it. I had to buy new sandpaper so we went to Wal-Mart for that and then I came home and started my cabinets. I removed them and took them out to the garage. I sanded them, and they currently have 2 coats of paint. We went with a different color from what we plan on using in the kitchen, but will probably still use the color Crisp & Clean which is made by Dutch Boy for the kitchen. We went with White Chocolate for the bathroom since I already have a cabinet over my toilet that my FIL made for me. I just wanted the colors to match and then I will probably prim up the cabinets as well as the cabinet that my FIL made for me.
Anyway, I am hoping to paint the back of the cupboards early tomorrow and hopefully finish the bathroom tomorrow (late afternoon), but we will see what happens. Church is at 11:00 so we of course have to work around that, but other then that my day is open which I love. I can't wait to work on them some more and really start making them come alive. How exciting, but it is indeed alot of work. My least favorite part is painting the side of the cupboards. The side of the cupboards must be like a cheap veneer or something because it is definitely a pain in the rear-end to paint and well it wouldn't sand at all.
Well, let's take a look shall we? Here is the before pictures...... I think I am eventually going to re-do my bathroom walls, but I can't do too much at once or my husband might start freaking out (lol).
Here is a picture of them after I sanded them.
Here is one coat of paint and it is just freshly painted so still a bit shiny.
Here are both cabinets painted. They will look alot better tomorrow so be sure to stay tuned!
That is is for tonight gals. Stay tuned for tomorrow's updated pics and pray that the weather stays just as nice tomorrow as it was today.

Girl you made quite an accomplishment today Your cabinets look great and you are going to soooo enjoy them!! As for me, I choose paint anyday over stain. It always looks so clean and fresh! I have just repainted cabinets, going from colonial blue to Khaki and I am very pleased!! Don't know if your bathroom is painted or papered but if it is paper and you don't want to strip....you can paint over it and it turns out great.. Hope ya get a lot done tomorrow so you can start enjoying!! Sherrie

We too enjoyed temperatures up in the 70's yesterday but it was also extemely windy. I got DH to take down my kitchen cabinets yesterday while I worked on a couple of the doors in the house. He got them all down but not until he fell off the step-stool. Hopefully I can get down there to sand and possibly paint today too!
