Ugly Pears Turned Grubby

I must say that I am totally loving the idea of being crafty. I have done alot of scrapbooking, but I have never really tried my hand at any primitive crafts. I see all of my primitive friends doing all sorts of great things and then posting them on their blog and I guess that I just thought I could do some of that stuff as well. After tonight..... I guess I am able to be pretty crafty, but probably not as crafty as some of you wonderful gals out there. I know two gals that come to mind that are so crafty that I wish I had their talent and that would be Kath @ All Things Prim and Pam @ basketsnprims. If you haven't checked out their blogs and their handmade goodies then you definitely need to check them out!! Oh, trust me they have some perfectly prim goodies!! Be sure to check out my blog list for more wonderful sites to visit!!
Ok, lets get down to business - shall we? I loved making these pears. They were fun to make and so easy and I personally think that they turned out just they way I had hoped. All that is left to do with these pears is to spray them with Americana Acrylic Sealer/Finisher in Matte - by DecoArt. If you are going to try your hand at them.... be sure to get the spray in Matte because you definitely don't want shiny pears! Once I get more of them finished then I am going to arrange them in an old wooden bowl and place it in the middle of my kitchen table. I might even decide to add some grubby apples as well. Oh, I can't wait to finish my prim fruit arrangement. Well, here is the much awaited picture of my grubby pears. Don't you love them?!? Ignore the foam plate that they are on right now. They are still drying from using the Modge Podge. So, what do you think ladies? I must say that I am pretty proud of them and heck they look alot better then before. Look at my previous post to see the ugly yellow color that they use to be. Hmmm, now they are perfectly prim in my book!

* Alot of you are asking where I found my pears.... I bought mine from Wal-Mart *

Lisa,
They turned out just awesome! Perfectly prim like Janene said. It's amazing what you can do with some spices and modgepodge, coffee stain, and paint. Most of these items are found in our homes and it's fun to look at something such as your pears and say "Wow, I did that", LOL. Have a great evening. Way to go!
