Fun Filled Friday

Let’s talk about the weather.  I have to admit that I have been absolutely spoiled with this weather that we have had the past week.  It has been beautiful outside and I have been soaking it up left and right.  The sun has been out, the temperatures have been in the mid 60’s and I have been taking advantage of it.  Friday was the Spring Open House for North Shore Primitives.  My Mom and I decided that we should definitely check it out and Mom said we had to get there early.  So, even though the doors didn’t open til 10:00 am, we were there at 9:30.  Yep, I didn’t think we needed to get there that early, but Mom was ready to shop!  Our favorite prim store was packed with beautiful spring flowers, lots of cute little prim bunny rabbits, spring pillows and the list goes on.  Of course it was well worth the trip.  Here are a few things that I picked up while shopping on Friday.

Don’t you love the flowers?  I thought they were so pretty and they looked so real.  I grabbed a couple groupings along with some other greenery and decided that they would look pretty in my home.  Who doesn’t like to bring a little “springtime” into their home?!?   I also picked up a cute little bird, a new blanket for my bed and a couple other goodies.  Yep, I was happy with what I came home with.  Another great part of my day is that I was able to spend it with my Mom.  You all know how much my Mom means to me so anytime that I can spend with her is a true blessing and a gift.  We just have so much fun together and she is truly my best girlfriend around.  I love you mom!! ♥ ♥ ♥

I was absolutely thrilled that I was able to meet up with a fellow blogger.  Karen from My Colonial Home arrived in Ohio from Wisconsin for some shows and we were able to hook up at North Shore Primitives.  It was great to be able to introduce her to my Mom.  It is funny because I actually pictured Karen being petite and sweet just like my Mom and she indeed was just that.  It is always nice meeting up with gals that have the same interests as you do……prims!!  Blogging buddies are the best and I was so happy to have the chance to meet Karen.  Her hubby seemed like such a nice guy and a great sport as well.  You gotta love a man that will walk around with you through a prim shop and smile while doing it.  I know that my hubby will do that at times and I am so happy that I was able to latch on to a guy that won’t complain!!  Maybe I should re-phrase that….. I am happy that I was able to latch on to a guy that won’t complain “too much”.  LOL

Anyway, it was great meeting you Karen.  I hope that you enjoyed your stay in Ohio.  Hopefully on your next visit we can meet up for lunch and chat awhile.  I think that would be great!!

I also thought that I would share with you my new kitchen floor.  I have been wanting new flooring in my kitchen for sometime now.  Well, we all know that money doesn’t grow on trees (ah shucks) so we tend to have to do things to our home when we can afford it.  Well, with my selling of the signs and game-boards to North Shore….. I was able to take some of that money and buy new flooring for our kitchen.  Hubby wasn’t too fond of having to install it, but it saved us some money and he did a wonderful job.  I am so proud of him for taking the interest to do it and doing it right.  It looks wonderful.  Here are a few pictures…….

He also had a little help.  This little helper had to have his “work boots” on to help out with the job.  He was so excited to help his Daddy and he didn’t do too bad himself.  Gotta love my boys!

So, what do you think of the new flooring?  It looks amazing ~ wouldn’t you agree?  I thought it looked primtastic with my re-finished cabinets.  Ignore the mess on the countertops….. I was in the process of baking a cake for my hubby’s birthday.  Anyway, I wanted to make sure that I showed the completed job!!

Well, I better wind this up for now.  I have lots more to show you including new game-boards and a new sign that I just completed.  I will probably post those in a couple days so be keeping an eye out for them.

Until Next Time ~ Blessings, Lisa

Hi Lisa,
I love the floor Lisa, to cute with his work boots on:)

Those flowers do look so real and look great where you have them, love them on your table in your header too!

So great that you got to meet Karen and her husband and to do it in your favorite store was probably so much fun.

We enjoyed the gorgeous weather here too but this morning I woke up to rain, oh well, the flowers have to have to grow and probably with the rain it will certainly be alot greener around here soon:)

Morning Lisa...right back at ya with the GREETING!!!! Doug and I enjoyed our visit to North Shore Primitives so much...we are sad that it isn't close enough to go back. We spent our share of money at the shows so didn't have much left for treasures there, although we did get some.

WE ARE IN LOVE WITH THE AQUA CUPBOARD in her middle room...it backs up against the textile rooms...know which one I mean. The design is awesome and different.
I like how it sits high off the ground and the top is higher than most hutch/cupboards.
I was wishing I had taken a picture of it so I don't forget what it looks like.
I'd love to go back and get it if I could sell my red hutch.
Anyway...that's another story.

It was such a pleasure meeting you and your mother Lisa....I do hope we get to meet again.

YOUR NEW FLOOR IS WONDERFUL....wow does it make the cabinets pop! Aren't LITTLE HELPERS COOL...they are in the big peoples world when they are doing things like this...how sweet.

Hugs, Karen

I love to read stories about you and your mom spending time together. It is so precious. I am close to my mom too, but she is 3.5 hours away, so we don't get to bond as often as I would like. ENJOY that time with her! I know you do, though!

Your flowers are pretty and gets me so excited for spring!

How delightful that you were able to meet up with Karen! She is such a sweetheart, I can only imagine her being even sweeter in person!

Your flooring is beautiful!! What a wonderful job your boys did on installing it! I'm sure that's a great sense of accomplishment every single day you see it-- in knowing that your work and love for what you do, helped to buy that flooring! I think that is so neat!

Love the red walls! I will be having some red dining room walls when the weather warms up... hopefully soon!
