This Little Piggy & Another Project

I have been wanting a pig cutting board for some time now since I saw the one on Char's blog. I love it when she posts Wood'n It Be Nice Wednesday Ideas. Speaking of that this pig cutting board was one that she shared awhile back. Don't you just love it? I wanted it to go in my kitchen somewhere so I stained him dark walnut to tie in with my cabinet knobs that I recently re-did. Here is my little piggy before I stained him.
Here is the little piggy after I stained him. The neat thing about this project is that I used the jigsaw for the very first time on this project and I am definitely pleased with the way he turned out. I love him and he is definitely a "Perfectly Prim Pig" (say that 5 times fast). Now to find just the right spot in my kitchen for my little pig! I am sure he will look too cute anywhere I put him and for him being my first project with the jigsaw..... I am pretty daggone happy with him!
Here is another project that I am currently working on. Yep, my MIL asked if I would re-finish this dresser for her so this is yet another project that is currently in the works. I started sanding it last night and stopped in the middle to get a before picture. You know me and my BEFORE and AFTER's (lol). I am obsessed with them and I love to see how they have changed and I know for a fact that this dresser needs a BIG TIME prim job done ASAP! So, hopefully I can get it sanded and re-finished to look prim. I am just not sure what color she wants to do it yet so I guess we will just have to wait and see how prim she really wants it. That is one thing about my MIL........ we don't have the exact taste in things, but I guess everyone is entitled to their own likes and dislikes (right)?
Hope you all are having a WONDERFUL week so far. We are pretty excited for these weeks to pass because in just a few short weeks (13 days to be exact) we are leaving for Myrtle Beach. Cameron keeps asking me when we are leaving and I keep trying to explain to him, but of course he is too young to understand. I started making a list of things we need to take, buy at the store and just by doing that - it made me so much more excited! Yep, I am pretty excited. In the meantime....... I am going to try to get some more projects done before I leave.

Your piggy looks great. My husband made two of them, one for my BF and another for my selling blog. They are so cute. I have a big one that I found in an antique store. Good job !

Yay!!! I'm so proud of you!! Learning how to use a jigsaw! Kind of fun, isn't it? Now you need to learn how to use a scroll saw and the possibilities will be endless!!

Lisa,

The little piggy turned out great. Good luck with the chest of drawers for your MIL. I know how hard it can be to do things for others.

Have fun at Myrtle Beach. That is where Wendell and I eloped!

Take Care,
Debbie

Your piggy board came out great! Great job on your first time using the jigsaw. That dresser looks alot like one we have in our bedroom that I've been thinking I want to prim up. Can't wait to see how it finishes up. You're my inspiration!

Hi Lisa,
Love how your piggy cutting board turned out!! Great job...now that you have mastered the jig saw, I can't wait to see what else you make.
Can't wait to see how the chest of drawers for your MIL turns out. Has she decided on how she wants it finished yet?
I just know that you all will have a wonderful time on your trip to Myrtle Beach.
