A Great Day of Thrift Store Shopping

It was a beautiful day here yesterday in Ohio. A perfect day for tackling some thrift stores with a sweet friend. Yep, I was on my best behavior yesterday while shopping with Cindy from Cynthia Lee Designs. I found a couple things and Cindy also helped me spend my money on a few others (lol). It was alot of fun and Cindy is definitely a sweet and very talented gal. If you get a chance to check out her blog and some of the many items that she can make then you definitely better take advantage of it. Like I said.......she is so very talented! Here is a picture of the two of us at the end of our shopping excursion...... uh yeah, we were taking our picture in the Goodwill parking lot. It was hilarious and people probably thought we were crazy nuts (lol).
We decided to do a gameboard swap, but she definitely went above and beyond and game me a whole slew of things. Things that I LOVE and will cherish. The first item is this cute little bag that will be going to the beach with me and will carry some of my favorite Judy Condon books and other magazines. Isn't it too cute? I love the embroidery that she did on it. Definitely perfect!!
Here are the gameboards that she made for me. I will definitely post pictures of where I put them later. Don't you just love them? So perfectly prim!
Oh - this is probably my favorite item. I totally ADORE this pillow that she made for me. Ok, I actually LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Isn't the cutest thing? The detailed work on it is unbelievable. See - I told you all that she was talented!!
She also made me this cute little hand towel.
Here are some of my thrift store buys..........
This little ladder was only 50 cents!! It is about 5 feet tall and will look cute somewhere in my home. I just couldn't pass it up for 50 cents.
A little house switch plate cover for .29 cents!
This cute little crock bowl light for .89 cents!! Yep, you heard me correctly - ONLY .89 cents!
I thought this would look cute with some miniature homemade candles or something prim hanging from it. For .59 cents - I would say that is a pretty good deal too!
Oh -- I was debating on this breadbox, but I thought that I could re-finish it and instead of my DH throwing his wallet, keys, watch and sunglasses on my cupboard then he could throw it all in here and shut the lid. I can't wait to paint it and prim it up. For 2.99 cents that was a pretty good buy as well - don't ya think? Stay Tuned for the makeover!!
Well, that is it for today. It was indeed a great trip shared with a wonderful new friend!

Holy Cow! You spent so little and bought SO much!
I love that little crock light! And that ladder...only $.50! That is outrageous!
I am jealous that the two of you got to hang out together....I get to come next time!!!!

I wanna go shopping with you two too.
The little candle crock looks like it could be Rowe Pottery. Is it marked on the bottom? I picked up an enamelware breadbox for the same reason, but I guess it's just to inconvenient to open it ALL the way up and then have to actually SHUT it too. lol

It was so nice here in S.C. today, it was in the low 70's all day with no humidity. Got a lot of gardening done. Prim friend, Sherrie
