Where Should I Start?

It has been a busy last couple of days. Thursday morning I woke up and got things together to surprise my Mom for her 64th Birthday. Mom is always working so hard to take care of her home and my Dad so I knew I wanted to surprise her with something special. I baked a cake for her on Wednesday night and prepared a huge pot of homemade spaghetti sauce. I packed it up along with some noodles and garlic bread and headed up Thursday late afternoon to surprise my Mom with a dinner that she didn't have to cook. She was so excited to see us and was thrilled with the dinner. I love bringing a smile to my Mom's beautiful face and that is exactly what I did. Hope you enjoyed everything Mom and HAPPY 64th BIRTHDAY!! You are still absolutely beautiful 64 years later!
I am not sure about some of you gals, but when I would go visit my grandparents I would absolutely love going up into their attic to look at all of the old stuff. It was indeed something I loved doing and there were do many things that I treasured about. Well, my Mom's parents passed away some time ago and she inherited alot of the old things that they had in their attic. I was lucky enough today to go through some of that stuff, look at old pictures and my Mom said that she was even going to give me the old trunk that held tons of family photos, antiques, my Grandpa's flag that my Mom received when her Dad passed away and tons of other great treasures and memories. I was so excited when she told me that. I also have my Grandma's old sweater that she use to wear all the time and I can take it out of the tote that it is currently in and return it to the trunk when I get it. It will be full of GREAT memories. Thank you Mom!! I thought I would share some of the great pictures that I found in the trunk today. I would have brought more home, but I wanted to keep everything together in the trunk. This picture is of my Grandma & Grandpa (My Mom's Parents). I was given my Grandma's middle name when I was born. Don't they both look great? I think my Mom looks like her Momma. Anyway, I introduce Jack & Clara to you all.
Here is another picture of my grandparents that I thought I would share.
This picture is that of another relative. This is my Grandpa's Dad's Father. Mom couldn't remember his name, but I am sure I will find it in that trunk along with some other old pics.
This is my Grandpa's Dad's Mother. Aren't these great old pictures? Hopefully I can share some more with all of you in the months to come.
Here are some things that I got these past couple days. My parents are going to be having a garage sale soon and I saw this little crock and loved it so Mom said that I could have it. I wasn't about ready for her to just sell it in the garage sale (lol). Isn't it too cute?
I bought this little garland at my Mom's friends shop. I am going to hang it in my window in my kitchen area. I thought it was soooo cute!!
I also bought some dried flowers to place here and there in my house. Aren't they pretty?
I knew that I definitely wanted a little of dried yarrow and so I got a little bit of that for a peg rack that I just recently finished up. Won't that look cute hanging from there?
I picked these prim candles up too. I loved the little prim pouch that they were in and thought that they would look cute in my GW find that I still have yet to finish up, but once it is finished they will look great in the bottom half of the cabinet.
Gotta love this cute little coffee/tea stained bag that I picked up. I thought it would look cute hanging from my peg rack too. Now to find a place for that peg rack and get it hanging up (lol). Gotta love it when you have all of these great ideas and no place to hang things. Just kidding....... I have wall space, but I am just not sure where I want to hang certain things. Love it.
OH - I also have some very exciting news to share with all of you, but I won't be able to share it until tomorrow. Oh and if you are all thinking that I might be pregnant then I will give you a hint....... No, we aren't pregnant. This exciting news has to do with my kitchen - Ok, I will leave it at that. Hahahaha, gotta love suspense!! I also have MORE MORE MORE to share with you, but that will have to wait til tomorrow so stay tuned!

Happy Birthday to your beautiful Mother! I'm glad she had a special day with you.

And what a wonderful blessing to inherit a truck full of mementos and photos! I love old family photos too.

Looking forward to hearing your kitchen news! Don't keep us hanging for too long, okay? LOL!

Lots of new goodies Lisa!

I dry my own yarrow and I have found that if I hang it down, it starts to drop all over eventually. If you want it to last longer, I might suggest standing it in something or even laying it down. Your yarrow may be preserved somehow so maybe that won't happen, but I wanted to gice you a heads up.

Kitchen news huh? A new floor? Appliances? HUMMMMMMM!!!!
