Just a Little Tweaking

I have been tweaking a little bit here and there and finally was able to hang up some of my prim goodies.  It is funny because I keep making stuff for myself and then piling it all up in my entry way (lol).  I guess I am just waiting for someone to come along and hang it all up for me (lol).  Do you all remember the “Miracles Happen” sign that I made?  Well, I finally found the perfect little place for it.  I put it in my hallway as you walk into my family room or into the entry way of course close to pictures of my little miracle baby “Cameron”.  It looks pretty good if I do say so myself.  I saw the stencil and knew that it would be perfect on my wall.

So, what do you think of the tweaking that I did?  I thought it looked pretty good.  I also went and picked up some paint samples for my entry way wall and my hallway.  The pictures above are just the plain old white paint that was on our walls when I moved into the house and they are in need of a paint job.  I picked up 4 different samples and there are 2 samples that are in a close 1st place, but we are just trying to figure out which one we like better.  The first sample is called Butter Cookie and the other is Spanish Chestnut.  They are both pretty similar, but just aren’t sure which one to go with yet.  Here are the pictures of the paint samples.  So, which one do you like the best?  The Butter Cookie is the one on the right of the first picture and of course you can tell which one is the Spanish Chestnut because it is marked.

Well, my husband has his first day of school/work tomorrow and the first official day for students is Tuesday.  Wow, I sure am going to miss him.  He has helped me so much and when I needed a little break… well, he gave me one and allowed me to go paint, stencil or something.  It was so nice!!  I am however going to take advantage of some free time that I have this evening and start painting my trash bin that I bought at the GW store so hopefully in a couple days I will have yet another make-over for all of you.  So, stay tuned ladies!!

Until Next Time… Lisa

Your sign looks perfect where you put it!
Is that your mom's dining room pictured in your header? (I KNOW that's not your new table!!) It's very nice!
As far as paint colors, I like the Spanish Chestnut better than the Butter Cookie. It seems to have more of a golden tone to it whereas the other one has a taupe tone. But whatever would look best with your flooring. My actual favorite is the Bleached Wheat, the one above the Spanish Chestnut!! lol
Good luck with your paint choice and happy painting!
Looking forward to cooler temps this weekend!

Take care my friend!

Love the sign and where you placed it. And I love both colors you picked out. If it was me, I would go with the darker color, but only becasue your home looks like it has good light. If it was darker, I would choose the lighter one. I like the one above the Spanish Chestnut!

Can't wait to see which one you choose.

Love where you put your sign. It's perfect there. I also love your new header picture. Is that your dining room? It's wonderful. I have Spanish Chestnut in my bathroom and am planning on painting all of my plain white walls with it. I have the trim painted Brass Tack from WM, too. I love the color. Can't wait to see which you choose and pictures when it's done, of course.

Lisa,

I'm trying to decide what color to paint just about every room in my house. It's a difficult decision. I like the butter cookie, but I have decided I like anything with food names. LOL!

Good luck with the painting and trashcan makeover, I wish I could find one. My DH still hasn't built mine. Ah... one day he will.

Ok,you have been a busy bee again!! Everything looks great Lisa. The sign is sooo perfect and you made a great prim grouping!
I really like the darker paint sample,Bleached Wheat. When we repainted several months ago I went with the darker khaki/taupe color and I can't tell you how it made everthing "POP"! I liked it so well until I used it in several rooms. Another color that a lot of people are using and it is considered neutral because everything looks great with it,and that is Cookie Crumbs by Glidden. It has a soft yellowy/gold color. I used it in my sunroom and getting ready to paint a bedroom upstairs the same. With your light floors, a contrast would be nice and all your black and prim pieces would look so different. Oh well, didn't mean to get carried away.
Have a good week-end my friend!
Hugs, Sherrie

Of the two, I like the spanish chesnut, but like Kris, I really like the bleached wheat. It is hard to pick because we can't see it with everything else in the house. Good luck.

Hi Lisa...I am not kidding you!!! As soon as I clicked on your color swatches...I said to myself - I love the Bleached Wheat!! lol! But back to the question....I guess I would choose the Spanish Chestnut. Actually...any of the colors are great. Hope we didn't confuse you more.

Your header is beautiful!

Love your sign and you put it all
together so well...I think the darkest color will look good, I find that I pick colors too light and when you put it on the wall, it's not much different than white...Also, it will give a warmer, cozier feel to the place...The come help me repaint my house!

Hi Lisa,

Love where you put your sign...that is a perfect place for it.
I had the Bleached Wheat on my walls when I lived in Waynesville and I loved it...but between the Butter Cookie and the Spanish Chestnut, I like the Spanish Chestnut the best.
Love your new header photo!!
