Just What the Doctor Ordered.....

If you read the title to the post then you know what I mean when I say that this project is just what the doctor ordered for me. I must say and I am sure you haven't heard this before (lol), but I love the fact that I have a new project to work on. It keeps my mind busy and going and it also helps me keep my mind off the fact that my parents were once again turned down on a contract for their condo. Seriously, I don't quite understand why in the world they can't get a contract! My parents condo is currently up for sale for around $250,000 and they were even willing to drop it to $220,000 for these people when really they already dropped it from $289,000 to $250,000. They are about ready to just give the thing away practically, willing to sell furniture and everything and not a single soul likes it enough to buy it or even make an offer. I try to tell them to change realtors, but they won't and the daggone thing continues to be on the market 3 years later. Hmmm, something just doesn't seem right to me.

Anyway, today was a busy day for me. I stained my last section of my countertops, caulked and even added some polyurethane to the first section. OMGoodness, it is looking so good! I know you all are probably tired of hearing about it, but it really looks great. I bought the backsplash today.......we decided to go with a 1x6 board and I will start sanding and staining those tomorrow. Hopefully by the end of this week, things will be done and we will just have to put them in along with my new faucet. Here are a few sneak peeks of my countertops AFTER one coat of polyurethane was brushed on this evening! WOW - Isn't that wood beautiful? Look at it up against my cupboards? Yep, I heart these cabinets and countertops together!! I must say that I am VERY proud of myself.

Well, that is it for tonight. Stay Tuned for more coming real soon to a blog near you (hahahaha).

Lisa,
I just love how your countertops are turning out!! They are beautiful and very primitive!! Can't wait to see them all finished!!

Sorry to hear about your parents condo not selling...my parents are in the same boat as they have had their home on the market for 3 years also...and not one offer. They have changed realtors, but it has made no difference for them. They feel that people want them to give it away...it is a beautiful home with a newer custom kitchen and they have lowered the price about as far as they can go now. I feel bad for them, because they are so wanting to down-size to a smaller home.

Have a great week.
hugs, Cindy

I'm a Realtor in Massachusetts. If your parents condo has been on the market for 3 years with the same Agent, I would say get a NEW agent. A new agent will bring new life to the listing. Also, if they haven't already, de-clutter the condo, remove all family pictures and get staging advice from the new agent.
Best of luck
Chery
