Blessings, Blessings Everywhere

This week has been a busy week for me, but I am loving every minute of it and then some.  After feeling under the weather for some time, I am just happy to be feeling back to my normal self again.  The weather here in Ohio has been cold and dreary however I was so excited when I saw the sunshine this evening.  I am a major sunshine person if you haven’t figured that out yet (lol).  Today was a great day for me.  I got alot accomplished and had a wonderful little lunch date right in the middle of the day.  Yep, if you guessed that my lunch date was my 2 1/2 year old son then you were absolutely correct.  I fixed Cameron and I grilled cheese and tomato soup and it was so yummy.  A perfect meal for a colder then normal day.  I love that he enjoys alot of the things I like, I also love the fact that he watches what I do then turns around and does it himself.  Yep, he dipped his grilled cheese into the soup and ate it……just like him Momma.  I so enjoy being able to stay at home with him.  I don’t know if I ever shared this with all of you, but I knew before I ever got pregnant that when God blessed us with a child, that I would want to stay home with them until they went to school.  Well, God blessed me with this opportunity and my husband works hard to make it happen.  Oh, don’t get me wrong….. it is a struggle every single month and I often think about going back to work, but when I look at my son, I realize that even though we struggle to make ends meet that it is the right thing for him and for me.  I guess I have always thought that you can’t get back those years and I feel as though there is nothing more precious then spending these special years with him while I can.  Yep, I am totally blessed and I thank my Heavenly Father daily for him and this opportunity to be his Mom and best Mommy that I can be.  It really is a gift.  Thank You God for such a wonderful blessing!!

On to a totally different note…… I am so happy to be able to get back to my crafting.  I have missed it so much and the past couple days have been wonderful.  Yep, I put my handy dandy surgical mask on and went out to the garage to do some crafting.  With asthma and a few other health problems….. I have to be extra cautious when I sand things and work with my crafts.  I just don’t want to stir things up again and be down and out again.  No Way!!  Do you remember my signs and game-boards that I made myself the other day?  Well, I finally was able to sand them and stain them and here they are all finished up.  They are just drying, but I thought I would post a picture anyway.  My favorite has to be the Olde Black Crow Coffee sign….. love it and I will be adding that to my selling blog as well so be watching out for that and remember that Christmas is just around the corner.  Any of these would make great gifts!!

Do you remember that toy box that I was re-finishing?  Well, I was able to get it sanded and stained as well.  So, once it has any opportunity to dry then I will be able to move it into the family room and hide alot of these toys that I fall over on a daily basis (lol).  I am definitely pleased with the way it turned out.  I decided to paint it red over black and the neat thing about the red that I picked out is that it is the same exact red that I have on my kitchen walls.  It just took on a totally different look and I love it.  Let’s take a look – ok?

So, do you love it as much as I do?  Uh yeah, I love it.  Definitely proud of this piece!!

Well, it is time for Criminal Minds and I can’t miss seeing Shemar Moore, so I better run for now.

Until Next Time……blessings to you all.

Oh Lisa it is sooooooo good to be back blogging again. I missed it terribly in these last few months and am so happy to be able to take a little extra time to do it again.

Your signs look great, just like always. I was wondering my dear if you might be able to make up a PANTRY sign. In my looking, I have not been able to find one that I like I then it ocurred to me that um, Stacey, you dingy, Lisa is a very talented woman and could just wip you up one. You can let me know on that later. :)

Yes, totally love the toy box. I did the same thing to a bread box that I bought at the Goodwill, just haven't sanded it or stained it yet. I plan on putting a star in the middle of the lid and maybe some words too. Not sure.

Anytime you guys feel like coming up, don't hesitate. We love having you here. :) Actually, I was thinking about coming down next Friday, the 23rd and spending the day with you. How would that sound? We do not have school that day and I could certainly use some much needed Shawn, Lisa and Cameron time. I'll give you a call sometime soon!!! :)

Girl, you have an awesome blog. I can only hope that mine will someday be half as creative as yours. :)

Love and hugs,
Stacey

Lisa,

I can relate to what you said about staying home I thank God everyday for the time I've had with my kids. Even though I don't have a job yet I know I will have to go back to work unless my DH gets a wonderful salary. I wouldn't trade the time for anything.

Love how your signs and toybox turned out, just wait till he's almost 8 and you start tripping on the little legos, ouch!

Signs and toy box are awesome!! Know you are proud of yourself. I know the sacrifices you are making are not always easy by staying home but you will NEVER regret your decision. You only get one shot at this and there are things in life we can't put a $$$$$ mark on and this is one of them. Our girls are grown and I wish now that I could have been with them more, but we did what we had to do. You are so blessed so you keep thanking God and hubby for this opportunity and keep on having those special dinner-dates!! It absolutely doesn't get any better than this!!!!! Hugs to you and your precious family! Sherrie

I love how your toy box turned out! It will fit nicely with the rest of your home :) Your signs are wonderful as well. And yes, you are so blessed to have your family and to be able to stay at home with him! That is why I have worked overnights for 8 years- to be able to be with my kids as much as possible. I've sacrificed a lot of sleep over the years, but it has enabled me to be there for preschool and school activities. Hug that little boy and enjoy every day!
