I am making a small change to my blog ladies. I have been receiving alot of anonymous comments…. some of them from fellow followers and some from companies that just want to spam me. I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand to have spam on my blog and I hate having to go in and delete it. Not only do I not wanna hear about gambling and casino’s, but I also don’t care to hear about filthy sites. That is definitely NOT me nor will it ever be. So, I am turning on the “word verification” with hopes that it will nip it in the bud. If that doesn’t take care of things then I will change my blog so only certain people that have a google account can leave comments. I hate doing this because I have quite a few gals out there that leave anonymous comments and I love to hear from you, but I also want to keep my site CLEAN!! Hope you all understand. Happy Friday!
Blessings, Lisa

Lisa, I had to do that too. And I moderate my comments so I get an email from blogger with each comment and see them and approve them before they are published on my blog and that way nothing gets on there that I don't want.
The same thing is happenening to me. I have mine set so that I can moderate the comments, so I can accept or reject each comment.
Have a great weekend!
UGH! I have been getting that too! What the heck...can't anything be safe from these annoying people?
Have a great weekend, and enjoy your "ME" time!
I have been noticing that too. The other day I went to read my comments and someone had created a link on one of the words to some advertisement. These people are so smart, maybe they should find a job or something else to do other than annoy us bloggers!
I done the same thing as Grammy Linda.
I just started to do this a few weeks back. I was getting 'comment's from posts almost two years back and it definitely wasn't from companies, but yucky places...
The word verification won't help. It still goes through. I closed everything up but it would still happen, so I'm back to letting people post the comments. I get the comments sent to my e-mail and then I just reject them.
It would be nice if Blogger would have a way to just BLOCK the people that post these. I'm sure they'll find new names to go by and do it again but I would feel better if I could just boot em! Lol

Lisa,
I've always have had word verification and NEVER have gotten spamed. Maybe this is why? Hope it works. Have a great weekend friend :)
Hugs

I have mine set to where I have to approve my comments...so far so good! Nothing wrong with change...I hope it keeps the bad stuff away!
I hope this will work for you. Nothing wrong with change when it brings about good results. I haven't had spammers hit my site but I already have the word verification on. I've had a few people join as followers that I questioned. I've noticed some bloggers have their comments set where they screen the comment before it's allowed to post. I hope you find a solution.

I have the same thing as Grammy Linda, Lisa and Pam. Hope it works for you!
Lisa, great idea. I am going to do the same thing.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Tricia
I had to turn on the word verification too, and it's worked so far.
Have a great weekend!

Lisa...I am glad that you brought this up. I was wondering how having just the word verification would stop those comments. I guess comment approval is the best way to go.
I did have one "strange" follower that I figured out how to delete.
Oh, BTW......love all of your game boards!

Lisa, I had the word verification on for quite a while and still got a spam comment or two. I've noticed on several blogs I read someone has been leaving comments in what appears to be Chinese, and how weird because no one can read it anyway, lol! I don't blame ya one bit, I wouldn't want the nasty stuff either!
I was having trouble, too. I am notified by email of each comment though I do not use word verification until posts are 2 weeks old. That gives you the opportunity to see every comment as it is posted and you can delete right from the email.
Good luck. It seems the weirdos and kooks have nothing better to do than look for a new audience to hassle.....
Hi Lisa,
I started using comment moderation last summer after someone I know and don't get along with decided to leave a nasty and unture statement on my blog!
Some people have no boundaries!
Blessings,

I know what you mean, I have been getting tons of those spam comments and I have comments that have to be verified by blog owner... maybe word verification will help on my blog too. I don't care to hear about Viagra!!
I'm getting those, too. Looks like it's happening to all of us! Today I got a comment with all these foreign characters! NO idea what THAT one said! And probably don't WANT to know! LOL! ~~Annie
Lisa,
Sorry to hear that this is happening to you.
I have a wordpress blog and mine is setup so that when someone leaves me a comment for the first time, I have to approve it and then they can leave one from that point on. I've been able to stop the spam from showing up on my blog that way. However, I still see it on my dashboard and have to delete it there. At least that way nothing gets onto my blog that I don't want to be there.
Hope you have a great weekend.

this was happening to me and I clicked on one of those spam comments and it gave me a virus on my computer. wiped out the whole thing. Try not to even click on them if you dont have to .. just delete them.
